COVID-1929th May 2020 We have been working alongside British Marine and boating companies from all over England and Scotland to produce a safe working policy to re-open for boat hire. British Marine has compiled all the information and created a document which was sent to Defra yesterday, (28th May) and we are now waiting for a reply. We are hoping to open for day boat hire around the middle of June, but only after the Government has passed British Marine’s proposal. When we re-open we will have to abide by the social distancing rules which currently mean we will only be able to hire to single households. If this guidance changes between now and re-opening, we may be able to hire to more than one household. We are currently taking bookings for Day Boats from the 15th June and Holiday Boats from the 15th July. 13th May 2020 Following on from the Governments update on Sunday, it has since been clarified that we are still not allowed to hire out our boats. The restriction that has been lifted is for the owners of private boats where they can to return to their boats to do maintenance. On the River Thames they are not allowed to cruise or to sleep on them. For anyone who has a holiday booked with us to start in August, you will shortly receive an email delaying your final payment to 4 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. If you would like to discuss your booking in person, please call our office on 01753 543930. Please note our current office hours are 9am to 3pm Monday to Saturday. We anticipate this will continue until the 31st May, though we will open sooner as long as it is safe for us to do so. We will update our website along with our facebook and twitter pages, so please keep an eye on our social media as we continue to monitor the situation. For those customers who have a holiday booked with us to start before the end of July, you should of received an email delaying your balance of payment from 10 weeks to 4 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. 21st March 2020 With the current restrictions being enhanced yesterday to closing pubs and restaurants etc, we would like to reassure all our customers that we are still working in preparing all our boats ready for the forthcoming season. In our business it is not possible for our staff to prepare the boats from home, so we are making sure our staff work alone unless a particular job requires 2 pairs of hands. Our customers and staff’s health are extremely important to us so if any of our staff or their families were to experience any of the symptoms, they would be asked to isolate themselves in accordance with government guidelines. Cruising the River Thames puts you in a unique position where once aboard your self-drive boat, you are self-isolating yourselves and avoiding areas where groups can gather. The local pubs and restaurants may be closed but the scenery and beauty of the river is still here ready and waiting for you to discover. If you are concerned about taking your boating holiday, we are currently offering anyone whose boating holiday is due to start before April 30th, the chance to postpone your start to later this year or any time next year. With the river due to be fully open from the 1st April, our day boats will also be available for hire, subject to river conditions. Our family and friends have been serving your families and friends since 1966, and with your support we will continue to support you all during this difficult time. If you would like to talk to us about postponing, making a new booking or you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our team on 01753 543930. Chris Clark Kris Cruisers |
