Welcome to our 2020 season round-up
This year as we all know has been a difficult season and I’m pleased to be able to confirm that as a company, none of our staff or their families contracted covid-19.
We started the year with the delivery of Lady Victoria, our Brand New holiday boat in March only to be shut down 1 week later due to Covid-19, where she sat until her maiden voyage on the 4th July. For over 3 months our boat yard was like a ghost town, when we should have been entertaining thousands of customers.
Due to the difference in restrictions between day boats and holiday boats, our first day boats left our base on Saturday 13th June and headed for Windsor, and what a lovely sight it was to see boats cruising the River Thames again.
As soon as the word was out that we were up and running and you could go boating again, our telephones never stopped ringing, taking up to 200 phone calls a day. With the restrictions on who could answer our phones, this at times proved a challenge in keeping up with the enquiries. Although the boating season was shorter than usual, with the glorious weather this summer we saw many new faces taking to boating.
Being closed for the first 3 months of 2020, we saw many customers choosing to delay their holidays to later this year and a lot more transferring their holidays to 2021.
As a family business, we made the decision back in May to freeze our holiday hire terms for 2021 and increase our Early Booking Discount to 10%.
This in turn with people hesitating to take to the air next year, we have seen a huge increase in advance bookings. Our 2021 bookings are up by over 205% with some boats over 70% fully booked for 2021.
With our 10% Early Booking Discount available to the 31st December 2020, there’s still time to save up to £158 on a short break and up to £351 on a 1 weeks 2021 boating holiday.
We would like to thank all our customers for your support and for trusting us to deliver a safe environment for their friends and families to go boating.
We wish you all a very Merry Xmas and a Prosperous New Year
